Six Flags Implements Chaperone Policy Amid New Merger Dynamics

Maryland - Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has announced changes to its chaperone policy following its merger with Cedar Fair.

The merger, completed on July 1, 2024, has resulted in a unified company operating 27 amusement parks and 15 water parks across North America.

In light of recent incidents and to ensure guest safety, Six Flags has introduced a chaperone policy, requiring guests under 18 to be accompanied by an adult after 4 PM, in three of its parks: Six Flags America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Six Flags Over Georgia. This measure aims to enhance security and improve the overall guest experience.

The policy adjustments come amid significant changes within the newly merged entity, which aims to integrate the best practices from both companies. This includes potential changes to season passes and park access, which are expected to evolve as IT systems and operational frameworks are merged.

The merger is anticipated to bring about improved park experiences, with enhanced food and beverage options, better theming of rides, and increased staffing quality.

These developments reflect the company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors while navigating the complexities of merging two major amusement park operators.
