The Netherlands - Efteling, the famous Dutch theme park, is set to unveil a new indoor attraction called Danse Macabre on October 31, 2024.
This attraction is part of a €25 million investment aimed at enhancing the visitor experience by redeveloping the surrounding area with new dining options, a shop, and additional entertainment features.
Danse Macabre will replace the old Spookslot and introduce guests to the eerie world of the Charlatan family, who have set up camp in a spooky forest.
Inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns’ symphonic poem “Danse Macabre,” the attraction is being developed by Intamin and will feature a groundbreaking Dynamic Motion Stage.
This cutting-edge technology is designed to enhance the immersive experience by providing a highly dynamic platform that moves in sync with the attraction’s music and storyline.
The Dynamic Motion Stage allows for greater capacity and more fluid motion, creating a seamless blend of visual and physical effects that draw visitors deeper into the eerie world of the Charlatan family.
The redevelopment of the area around Danse Macabre will include thematic elements that extend the attraction’s eerie ambiance.
A new eatery will offer themed dining experiences, and a specialized shop will sell related merchandise, allowing guests to take a piece of the spooky fun home with them.
The overall design aims to create a cohesive, immersive environment that transports visitors into the macabre world of the old abbey.
This new addition to Efteling is expected to draw significant attention from both local and international visitors, continuing the park’s tradition of blending storytelling, artistry, and innovative ride technology.
