United Kingdom - Today marks the grand opening of Drayton Manor’s latest family attraction, the Gold Rush roller coaster, in the newly unveiled Frontier Falls area.
This highly anticipated addition is set in a Wild West-themed zone, enhancing the park’s transformation into a more comprehensive theme park experience.
The Gold Rush roller coaster, an Intamin Family Lift & Launch Coaster, provides a dual-experience ride.
The train can ascend the lift hill and go down the first drop, or use the lift hill as a reverse spike, enabled by innovative switch tracks.
Midway through the ride, passengers enter a barn where the train launches either forwards or backwards (depending on how the ride started), enhanced by simulated explosion effects and detailed theming.
Frontier Falls, located next to the Vikings area introduced in 2022, includes revamped attractions such as Blasting Barrels, Sheriff’s Showdown, Falls Theatre, and The Haunting.
The new theme area aims to transport visitors into a Wild West adventure, with Gold Rush as its centerpiece.
Park enthusiasts have eagerly awaited this opening, with the promise of Gold Rush being one of the most unique and enjoyable family coasters in the UK.
