Ireland - Emerald Park has unveiled an impressive timelapse video showcasing the construction of its newest themed land, Tír na nÓg.
This Celtic-themed area officially opened to the public on May 22, 2024, and represents a significant €22 million ($24.1 million) investment in the park.
Tír na nÓg spans 6.5 acres (2.6 hectares) and features three main attractions: two intertwining roller coasters, Na Fianna Force and The Quest, and a wave swinger ride named Celtic Dreamer.
Na Fianna Force is a suspended thrill coaster, the largest of the two roller coasters, designed for adrenaline seekers. It features a 750-meter (2,460 feet) long track, reaches speeds up to 90 km/h (56 mph), and includes three inversions. The coaster’s highest point is 32 meters (105 feet), making it a standout attraction in the park.
The Quest is a family boomerang coaster that provides forward and backward runs along its 450-meter (1,480 feet) track. The ride reaches speeds of 60 km/h (37 mph), and its highest point is 25 meters (82 feet).
The last new ride in this area is Celtic Dreamer. This classic wave swinger ride takes guests up to 12.6 meters (41 feet) high and travels at speeds of 36 km/h (22 mph). With 56 seats, it is designed to be a fun and gentle ride suitable for all ages.
In addition to the rides, Tír na nÓg includes new food outlets, retail spaces, and themed entrances that enhance the overall guest experience.
The immersive land of Tír na nÓg is richly themed with Celtic mythology and Irish folklore, featuring over 30 swords, 70 shields, and numerous other handcrafted items by local blacksmiths from the Boyne Valley. Additionally, the area is lushly landscaped with over 500 mature native Irish trees and 50,000 plants, creating a natural and magical atmosphere.
Emerald Park collaborated with Jora Vision, a leading design and production company, to bring the theming of Tír na nÓg to life.
The timelapse video shared by Emerald Park highlights the extensive and meticulous efforts that went into creating Tír na nÓg, from the initial groundwork to the final touches of theming.
