Belgium - Bellewaerde Park has announced the indefinite closure of its Amazonia water attraction due to ongoing technical issues.
Amazonia, a unique prototype by Intamin, has faced significant challenges since its opening. The park is collaborating with Intamin to address these problems, although no specific reopening date can be provided at this time.
Amazonia was supposed to be the park’s big new addition for this year, aimed at attracting crowds and enhancing the park’s appeal. However, it has experienced previous closures due to similar technical difficulties, which have been a concern for both management and visitors.
“We understand this news is disappointing for our visitors, but the safety and quality of our attractions are our top priorities,” stated the park’s management. “We hope Intamin can find an effective solution soon.”
Despite Amazonia’s closure, the new Mundo Amazonia zone, including attractions like the kiddie-coaster “Brazilian Buggies,” mini-log flume “Rio Do Cacao,” food outlet “Tropical Takeaway,” and souvenir shop “Samba Souvenirs,” remains open.
