United Kingdom - Pleasure Beach Resort (Blackpool, United Kingdom) is gearing up for an exciting new addition with the Gyro Swing, a thrilling ride designed by Intamin.
RideRater discovered the upcoming attraction through a registration of a charge filed by the amusement park.
The document, part of a loan agreement, explicitly mentioned the asset as an “Intamin Gyroswing located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach,” providing concrete evidence of the new ride.
Set to replace the Grand Prix ride, the Gyro Swing is a popular attraction in various amusement parks worldwide, known for its impressive height, speed, and disorienting spinning motion.
Riders sit in a circular gondola, facing outward, while the ride swings back and forth, simultaneously spinning to create an intense experience.
Similar rides can be found at popular parks like Linnanmäki in Finland and Liseberg in Sweden, where they have garnered much popularity for their adrenaline-pumping features.
The park’s management has been hinting at this development, with Amanda Thompson, the park’s chief executive, announcing the Grand Prix’s closure earlier in the year to make way for the new ride.
The exact opening date for the Gyro Swing has not been announced yet, but the anticipation is building among amusement park enthusiasts.
