Sweden - On August 3, 2024, a 10-year-old boy tragically drowned at Skara Sommarland. The incident occurred when the boy was found lifeless in a swimming pool by one of the park’s lifeguards.
Despite immediate CPR efforts and transport to the hospital via helicopter, the boy could not be revived and later succumbed to his injuries.
The police have confirmed that there is no suspicion of foul play, classifying the event as a tragic accident.
Skara Sommarland has closed its water park section for the day to support affected staff and visitors, while the amusement park section remains open. As of now, the park is fully open as usual.
The park’s interim CEO, Christoffer Östling, expressed deep condolences to the boy’s family and emphasized the park’s commitment to safety and support for its employees.
