Italy - Mirabilandia is introducing a unique twist to the summer season with its “Suburbia Summer Nightmare” event, taking place from August 10th to 15th, 2024.
This event transforms the park’s Reset area into a terrifying landscape, offering an experience typically reserved for the Halloween season. As night falls, the park’s atmosphere changes dramatically, with several haunted houses and other attractions designed to deliver spine-chilling thrills.
Among the main attractions is the Asylum, a haunted house set in the decaying remains of a psychiatric hospital. Visitors navigate through dark, narrow corridors filled with unsettling sounds and disturbing encounters with the spirits of former patients who now haunt the halls. Another key feature is the Lazaretto and Morgue, which immerses guests in the grim environment of a quarantine station for plague victims, culminating in a horrifying encounter with the restless dead in the morgue.
In the Tent City haunted house, guests find themselves in a ghostly encampment where lost souls roam through a maze of tattered tents, creating an atmosphere thick with supernatural tension. The Acid Rain Tunnel offers a different kind of horror, taking visitors through a post-apocalyptic landscape where they must confront mutants and other dangers in a world drenched by toxic rain.
Adding to the eerie atmosphere is “Breathless – La Sfida della Paura,” a special performance by illusionist Antonio Casanova. This magic show, filled with suspense and fear, pushes the boundaries of what the human mind can endure, offering a performance that is both mesmerizing and terrifying.
The decision to hold a horror-themed event in the middle of summer is aimed at providing visitors with a unique experience that breaks from the traditional timing of such events. By bringing the spirit of Halloween to August, Mirabilandia seeks to offer something different for summer visitors, while also providing a preview of the park’s more extensive Halloween festivities later in the year.
The “Suburbia Summer Nightmare” is included with the regular park admission, with special evening tickets available for those who wish to enter after 5 p.m. This allows guests to enjoy the park’s standard attractions during the day before transitioning into an evening of horror.
