California - At the 2024 D23 Expo in Anaheim, Disney unveiled new details about the much-anticipated expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, including the first glimpse of the ride vehicle for the upcoming “King Thanos” multiverse attraction.
This new E-ticket ride, which has been in development for several years, will take guests on an exhilarating journey through the Marvel multiverse, with a storyline centered around King Thanos, a variant who has successfully defeated the Avengers.
The ride vehicle, displayed at D23, is designed with advanced technology reminiscent of Tony Stark’s time suits, Xandarian jump points, and Wakandan science, enabling it to transport guests between different worlds and realities.
The design, which features high side walls to focus riders’ attention on the immersive scenes ahead, is similar to the ride systems used in Universal’s “The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man” and Disney’s “Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure” at Tokyo DisneySea .
This multiverse theme allows for the inclusion of a vast array of Marvel characters, including those who have died in the main storyline or exist only in alternate universes.
The flexible concept also means the attraction can be updated with new characters as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to expand.
Fans attending D23 had the opportunity to see the actual ride vehicle up close, as well as artwork featuring King Thanos, setting the stage for what promises to be a groundbreaking addition to Avengers Campus.
They can expect to hear even more details about this thrilling new attraction during the Disney Parks presentation later today, where additional insights and surprises are likely to be revealed.
