France - At the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Disney announced an array of new attractions and experiences set to debut across its theme parks. Among the key announcements made during the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase,” led by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, was the introduction of a new nighttime spectacular coming to Disneyland Park in January 2025.
This upcoming show, yet to be officially titled, is set to be a major addition to Disneyland Paris’s entertainment offerings. It will feature a blend of iconic Disney songs and projections of beloved characters onto Sleeping Beauty Castle. This show promises to take guests on an emotional journey filled with nostalgia, exploring the theme that true magic lies within everyday moments.
What sets this new nighttime spectacular apart is its use of cutting-edge technology, combining projections, fountains, drones, fireworks and advanced lighting effects with an original soundtrack.
While Disneyland Paris has previously experimented with drone technology in smaller pre-show displays, this will be the first time drones are fully incorporated into the main nighttime spectacle. The drones will add a dynamic new element to the show, creating visuals in the night sky. Concept art for the show includes scenes like Lilo and Stitch in a rocket, depicted through the choreography of drones.
The show aims to push the technical boundaries established by previous Disneyland Paris nighttime shows, such as “Disney Dreams!” and “Disney Illuminations.” These past shows have been celebrated for their innovative use of projection mapping and pyrotechnics, but the new 2025 offering seeks to immerse guests even deeper into Disney’s storytelling.
For the first time in Disneyland Paris’s history, Main Street, U.S.A. will also serve as an integral part of the nighttime show. Through projections and sound effects, scenes from Disney and Pixar films like “Pinocchio,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Encanto,” and “Toy Story” will come to life along the iconic street.
Dana Harrel, Executive Entertainment Director at Disneyland Paris, emphasized the creative expertise behind this new show, highlighting that it reimagines the way stories are told at the park. Harrel noted that this show is designed to offer an unforgettable experience, bringing guests together at the end of their day in the most memorable way possible.
