The Netherlands - Walibi Holland has officially revealed the name of its eagerly anticipated new roller coaster: YoY.
This single-rail coaster, set to open in 2025, is a significant addition to the park and brings a unique feature to European theme parks with its dual-track layout. Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), this ride will be the first of its kind in Europe, showcasing RMC’s innovative Raptor Track design. The announcement of the name comes as excitement builds for the ride, which will offer two distinct experiences on separate tracks.
The first track promises a thrilling ride with six inversions, a top speed of 82 kilometers per hour (51 mph), and a towering height of nearly 30 meters (98 feet). This side is designed for adrenaline seekers looking for intense thrills with sharp drops and rapid twists. The second track is aimed at a more family-friendly audience, offering a smoother, less intense experience without inversions, making the ride accessible for younger or more cautious visitors. This dual-track configuration is the unique selling point of YoY, ensuring it appeals to a wide range of park-goers.
Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) is renowned in the amusement industry for its innovative approaches to roller coaster design and manufacturing. Founded in 2001, RMC gained prominence for its groundbreaking work in converting traditional wooden coasters into hybrid designs, blending steel and wood for enhanced ride experiences. Their unique Raptor Track system, utilized in the construction of YoY, features a single-rail design that allows for more intricate track layouts and dynamic maneuvers.
The coaster’s layout will feature a variety of thrilling elements, including multiple inversions and high-speed sections designed to test the limits of riders. Its dynamic track design and RMC’s renowned engineering make it one of the most anticipated attractions in the European theme park scene for 2025.
