United Arab Emirates - The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has announced the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East, scheduled for March 30 to April 2, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
This event marks IAAPA’s first major expo in the Middle East, reflecting the region’s expanding role in the global attractions industry.
Expo Features and Objectives
IAAPA Expo Middle East will feature an extensive exhibit floor showcasing the latest innovations and trends in the attractions sector. The event aims to connect industry professionals through educational sessions led by experts, networking opportunities, and behind-the-scenes tours of local attractions. The decision to launch this expo responds to increasing requests from exhibitors, operators, and members for a world-class event tailored to the Middle Eastern market.
Abu Dhabi’s Growing Attractions Sector
Abu Dhabi has emerged as a significant player in the attractions industry, driven by substantial investments in entertainment and leisure projects. The city is home to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, the first SeaWorld park outside the United States, which opened in 2023. Upcoming projects, such as TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and the Natural History Museum, are expected to attract millions of visitors, positioning Abu Dhabi as a leading cultural and tourism destination.
IAAPA’s Strategic Expansion
Jakob Wahl, President and CEO of IAAPA, stated, “We are thrilled to bring IAAPA Expo to the Middle East. This region is experiencing tremendous growth and innovation, and we are eager to support and elevate the industry here.” The expo is intended to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to network, learn, and explore new opportunities within the Middle Eastern market.
IAAPA Expo Middle East is expected to become an annual event, rotating locations within the region to ensure comprehensive coverage and engagement across the entire area. This initiative aligns with IAAPA’s goal to support the global attractions industry by facilitating knowledge exchange and fostering business development opportunities.
The announcement was made during IAAPA Expo Europe in Amsterdam, highlighting the organization’s commitment to expanding its global presence and addressing the needs of its diverse membership base.
