Canada - Canada’s Wonderland is set to unveil a new thrill ride in 2025: the record-breaking launch coaster, AlpenFury.
This addition will not only be the park’s 19th roller coaster but also the longest, tallest, and fastest launch coaster in Canada, cementing the park’s reputation as a premier destination for thrill-seekers.
AlpenFury, designed by Premier Rides, is a dual-launch coaster that promises to deliver an adrenaline-pumping experience.
Riders will be launched from within the depths of the park’s iconic Wonder Mountain, rocketing up 164 feet (50 meters) out of the mountain’s summit before embarking on a twisting and flipping journey across 3,281 feet (1,000 meters) of track.
With speeds reaching up to 71 mph (115 km/h), the coaster will feature nine inversions—more than any other launch coaster in North America.
This new attraction will be the highlight of a newly themed area called Alpenfest, a festival-like setting where visitors can celebrate the mystical elements of fire and ice, a theme that is intricately woven into the design and story of AlpenFury.
Canada’s Wonderland, located in Vaughan, Ontario, has a long history of introducing record-breaking attractions. From the towering Leviathan and Behemoth coasters to the unique Yukon Striker, the park continues to push the boundaries of coaster design.
AlpenFury will be the fourth coaster to interact with Wonder Mountain, a central feature of the park that adds a dramatic and immersive element to the ride.
Phil Liggett, general manager of Canada’s Wonderland, expressed excitement about the new ride, emphasizing that the combination of being launched out of Wonder Mountain and experiencing nine rapid-fire inversions will be an unforgettable experience for guests.
AlpenFury is also part of a broader wave of new attractions across Six Flags Entertainment Corporation parks following their recent merger with Cedar Fair. This synergy is expected to bring even more world-class attractions to the combined portfolio of parks.
With its debut scheduled for the 2025 season, AlpenFury is already generating buzz among coaster enthusiasts and is poised to be a must-ride attraction for visitors to Canada’s Wonderland.
