France - Parc Astérix is gearing up for an exciting new addition in 2025 with the arrival of the first tracks for their upcoming spinning coaster, set to replace the now-dismantled “Nationale 7” oldtimer ride.
The track pieces, which have started arriving at the park, are a vibrant red, promising a visually striking presence in the park’s skyline.
The new coaster, developed by the German manufacturer Gerstlauer, is designed as a family-friendly attraction featuring spinning cars, allowing each ride to offer a unique experience with varying views.
This new attraction, tentatively named “Garage Pocatalitix,” will draw inspiration from the character Pocatalitix, a cart merchant from the Astérix comics, particularly from the story “Astérix and the Chariot Race.”
The coaster’s theme will blend elements of Gallic and Roman chariot races, complementing the park’s rich thematic environment.
The ride will feature both indoor and outdoor sections, enhancing the overall experience with a mix of environments.
The park has ambitious plans for the next decade, including the addition of three new roller coasters, with this spinning coaster being the first.
