Florida - Walt Disney World has announced that the extensive construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will continue through 2026. This refurbishment includes the relocation of the resort’s main entrance and other enhancements aimed at improving guest experiences.
A new permit filed in May 2024 outlines plans for an all-new main entrance. The existing entrance will be converted to a bus-only lane, while the new main entrance will be positioned at the end of a redesigned Seven Seas Drive. This project aims to separate bus and vehicle traffic, enhancing overall traffic flow and guest access.
The new entrance will include a guard gate and a dedicated road, minimizing disruptions on Seven Seas Drive. Despite fewer parking spots, the revamped entrance promises a more streamlined approach for guests.
Disney has assured that construction will not begin before 9:00 AM to minimize disturbances, although guests may still encounter noise and visual obstructions during their stay. Disney advises visitors to stay updated on the latest developments regarding these enhancements.
This comprehensive refurbishment and the introduction of a new main entrance mark significant steps in enhancing the guest experience at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. While the project will continue to 2026, the long-term benefits aim to greatly improve accessibility and traffic management at the resort.
