Singapore - This summer, Universal Studios Singapore hosts “A Mega Despicable Summer,” a vibrant event celebrating the release of Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4.”
The highlight of this event is the action-packed “Mission: MEGA” show and the energetic “Minionvasion” flash mob.
Mission: MEGA
“Mission: MEGA” is a live performance that takes place at the heart of the park. The show revolves around the Anti-Villain League (AVL) and their latest technological advancement, designed to transform ordinary humans into Mega humans.
Kevin and Stuart, two of the beloved Minions, play key roles as they attempt to stop a group of thieves from stealing this top-secret AVL technology. The show is filled with comedic chaos, high-energy action, and plenty of laughs, staying true to the Minions’ trademark humor.
Throughout the show, the audience is engaged with interactive elements, and volunteers are even selected to participate in the action, adding to the immersive experience. The performance concludes with a meet-and-greet session, where guests can take photos with their favorite characters from the show.
Minionvasion Flash Mob
Another major attraction is the “Minionvasion” flash mob. This unique performance features the Anti-Villain League Minions taking over New York Street with a high-energy dance routine.
Guests are encouraged to join in the fun and groove along with the Minions. T
he flash mob culminates in a lively meet-and-greet session at the New York Public Library, allowing fans to interact with characters such as Mega Mel, Mega Dave, Mega Gus, and Mega Jerry.
Mega Despicable Summer
Apart from the main shows, “A Mega Despicable Summer” offers a variety of other attractions and activities:
Mega Minion Inflatables: Giant inflatables of the Mega Minions decorate New York Street, providing perfect photo opportunities for guests.
Meet-and-Greet Sessions: Visitors can meet Gru, Lucy, and their daughters—Margo, Edith, and Agnes—at designated locations within the park.
Exclusive Merchandise: The Universal Studios Store and Minion Mart offer a range of Despicable Me 4-themed merchandise, including apparel, plushies, and action figures.
Themed Food and Treats: Select restaurants and food carts in the park serve Minion-inspired snacks and meals. Popular spots include Pops! Popcorn Delights, Mel’s Drive-In, KT’s Grill, Star Snacks, and Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor .
This event is included with regular admission to Universal Studios Singapore, running until August 11, 2024.
