New Jersey - Morey’s Piers, the iconic amusement park in Wildwood, New Jersey, has announced that its renowned wooden roller coaster, The Great White, will receive new trains for the 2025 season.
This upgrade is part of the park’s ongoing commitment to enhancing guest experiences and maintaining the ride’s status as a premier attraction.
The Great White: A Coastal Classic
Since its debut on June 10, 1996, The Great White has been a standout feature of Morey’s Piers. Designed by Custom Coasters International, this hybrid wooden coaster boasts a 33.5-meter (110-foot) lift hill and a 30.5-meter (100-foot) drop at a 50-degree angle, reaching speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour (50 mph). Unique for its location, the ride begins with a drop beneath the boardwalk and extends over the beach, offering riders a thrilling experience with scenic ocean views.
Enhancements Over the Years
Morey’s Piers has consistently invested in The Great White to ensure its longevity and rider satisfaction. In 2021, the coaster underwent significant upgrades, including the installation of 73 meters (240 feet) of new track, a modern ride control system, and the addition of an elevator in the station to improve accessibility.
Upcoming Train Upgrade
The forthcoming introduction of new trains in 2025 is a continuation of these enhancement efforts. While specific details about the new trains have not been disclosed, such upgrades typically aim to provide a smoother ride, increased safety, and improved comfort for passengers. This initiative reflects Morey’s Piers’ dedication to maintaining high standards for their attractions and ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors.
Morey’s Piers: A Legacy of Family Entertainment
Established in 1969, Morey’s Piers has grown into a family-owned seaside amusement park complex spanning over 7 hectares (18 acres) along six beach blocks.
