France - Futuroscope, a large theme park in France, has announced the development of a new attraction, “Mission Bermudes,” set to open in 2025. This new ride will be the park’s first flume ride and represents a significant addition to its portfolio.
“Mission Bermudes” is themed around the legendary Bermuda Triangle and will combine elements of a classic flume ride with roller coaster dynamics. Designed by Mack Rides, the attraction will feature a rocking boat system that can simulate the unpredictable motions of a wild water ride. The ride will include multiple splashes, a maelstrom, and an indoor cave section with various scenes.
Riders will board 8-person boats and embark on an adventure starting from Bermuda Island, navigating through narrow rocky passages and jungle-like environments. The journey will build up to a dramatic climax where the boat is lifted in an elevator for a 15-meter drop, culminating in a large splash.
The new ride will replace the Jardin des Énergies, an attraction that previously focused on educating visitors about energy conservation. The location is near the park entrance, next to La Machine à Voyager dans le Temps, making it easily accessible for visitors.
Futuroscope’s Vision 2025 plan includes a €300 million investment to expand the park, with “Mission Bermudes” being one of the key projects. This development follows the opening of “Chasseurs de Tornades” in 2022 and is part of a broader strategy to introduce new and dynamic attractions to enhance the visitor experience.
