Parc Astérix’s Upcoming Attractions: A Major Expansion With 10 Attractions

France - Parc Astérix is set to undergo a significant expansion, introducing ten new attractions to enhance visitor experience.

Among the highlights is a highly anticipated spinning coaster, scheduled to debut in 2025.

The New Spinning Coaster

This new roller coaster, most likely developed by the German manufacturer Gerstlauer, promises to offer a unique experience with its rotating cars, allowing riders to enjoy a different view each time they ride.

The coaster will be family-friendly and is expected to feature both indoor and outdoor sections.

The spinning coaster will replace the National 7 attraction, which was closed and dismantled in November 2023.

The concept art for the spinning coaster reveals a vibrant design inspired by the iconic characters and themes of the Astérix comic series, particularly focusing on the character Pocatalitix, a cart merchant from “Astérix and the Chariot Race.”

Ten New Attractions

In addition to the spinning coaster, Parc Astérix plans to introduce several other attractions over the next few years.

These include an interactive ride and an indoor coaster. The interactive ride is expected to blend cutting-edge technology with engaging storytelling, while the indoor coaster will provide a thrilling experience shielded from the elements, ensuring year-round accessibility.

The expansion is a strategic move to accommodate the increasing number of visitors to Parc Astérix.

The park, surrounded by a protected forest, has limited space for expansion, making it crucial to optimize the available area effectively.

By adding new attractions, Parc Astérix aims to distribute visitors more evenly across the park, reducing wait times and enhancing the overall guest experience.

The Egyptian-Themed Hotel

Parc Astérix also announced plans to open a new Egyptian-themed hotel in 2026.

This ambitious project includes a 300-room hotel designed in an Egyptian style, inspired by the Astérix comic album “L’Odyssée d’Astérix.”

The hotel will feature two restaurants, a spa, a conference center, and two bars, including a rooftop bar.

Additionally, a four-story parking garage with 480 spaces will be constructed.

The hotel complex will cover an area of 33,000 square meters, with a central garden featuring five themed zones inspired by ancient civilizations like Phoenicia, Egypt, Persia, and Mesopotamia.
