United Kingdom - Paultons Park has announced the development of a new dark ride attraction, Ghostly Manor, which is scheduled to open in May 2025.
The dark ride is designed to provide an immersive experience with a spooky theme, adding to the park’s collection of family-friendly attractions.
Ghostly Manor will guide visitors through the haunted halls of Dr. Kinley’s manor. The narrative centers on Dr. Kinley, a ghost hunter who is on an expedition to the North Pole in search of an elusive ice ghost.
During his absence, guests are invited to explore his manor, which contains various ghost-hunting apparatuses and haunted artifacts. However, the ghosts captured by Dr. Kinley have escaped, and visitors are tasked with recapturing them.
The ride will incorporate both digital and physical elements. It will feature a turntable with five sections and five ride carriages, each seating eight people back-to-back.
Riders will use a device called the phantom phaser to shoot at ghosts throughout the ride, with their scores displayed at the end. This scoring system introduces a competitive element to the experience.
The attraction will blend digital projections on 10-meter wide screens with physical props to create a convincing and eerie atmosphere. The design aims to immerse visitors fully in the ghostly theme, enhancing the overall experience.
The exterior of Ghostly Manor will be styled to reflect the original Paultons Manor, which once stood in the park’s gardens. This design choice aims to maintain a connection with the park’s historical roots.
During a recent presentation, Paultons Park also hinted at another new attraction planned for 2026, which might be the park’s first inverted coaster. This future project underscores the park’s commitment to expanding its range of attractions.
