Universal Studios Hollywood Unveils New ‘Luchadores Monstruosos’ Scare Zone for Halloween Horror Nights 2024

California - Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a new addition to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights: the “Luchadores Monstruosos” scare zone.

This latest scare zone promises to plunge guests into the eerie world of a Lucha Libre horror film, where two luchadores battle against a horde of terrifying masked monsters. The zone will be located in the Parisian Courtyard, right as guests exit the “Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America” haunted house.

This unique theme combines the high-energy spectacle of Lucha Libre wrestling with the horror and suspense that Halloween Horror Nights is known for.

Lucha Libre is a distinctive style of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico. Characterized by its colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and high-flying acrobatics, Lucha Libre stands out from other wrestling traditions through its unique blend of athleticism and theatrics. The wrestlers, known as luchadores, often perform in elaborately designed masks, which are integral to their personas and the storytelling aspect of their matches. The masks symbolize a luchador’s identity, heritage, and sometimes even their struggle between good and evil. This dramatic form of wrestling not only showcases the physical prowess of its performers but also embodies the rich cultural traditions and myths of Mexican folklore.

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 will run from September 5 through November 3, featuring a variety of haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment. This year’s event includes notable haunted houses such as “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface,” “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines,” and “Insidious: The Further”.
