France - At the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event held in Anaheim, California, Disney unveiled a series of major announcements concerning future developments at Disneyland Paris. During the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase,” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences at the Walt Disney Company, revealed that Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed to Disney Adventure World, will host a new nighttime show in 2026.

This show is set to take place on and above the central lake, named Adventure Bay, marking a significant expansion of the park’s entertainment offerings.

The upcoming nighttime spectacular will utilize an array of advanced technologies, including water screens, fountains, special effects, and a unique choreography of drones. Disney has partnered with France-based technology provider Dronisos to develop custom water-drones specifically for this show.

Dronisos has worked closely with the park on several previous projects, solidifying their partnership. Notable past collaborations include the Disney D-Light drone show, which debuted as part of the park’s 30th Anniversary celebrations in 2022. This show was the first time Disney incorporated drone technology into its daily outdoor entertainment, and it garnered significant attention for its innovation and execution.

Dronisos also played a crucial role in creating the Avengers: Power the Night show at Walt Disney Studios Park, where up to 500 drones were used to create dynamic, synchronized displays featuring Marvel characters. Another major project was the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, which launched in January 2024. This parade, a modern reinterpretation of the classic Main Street Electrical Parade, used drones to animate beloved Disney characters and floats in the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The integration of drones is particularly notable, as it represents the first time water-drones will be used in a Disney nighttime show, adding a new dimension to the visual experience. The drones will perform intricate maneuvers synchronized with the other elements of the show, creating a mesmerizing display that combines water, light, and aerial choreography.

The new nighttime show is designed to be viewed from various locations around Adventure Bay, with The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge providing an optimal vantage point for guests to take in the full spectacle.

This new nighttime show is part of a broader expansion at Disneyland Paris, which will see its second park renamed Disney Adventure World as it doubles in size. The expansion includes the addition of several new themed areas, attractions, and dining options, all aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience.
