United Arab Emirates - Miral, the leading creator of immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, has announced a significant 16,900 square meter expansion to Yas Island’s Yas Waterworld.
This major development is set for completion in 2025 and will introduce an impressive 3.3 kilometers of new slide sections, enhancing the park’s capacity by 20% with 18 thrilling new rides and attractions. The expansion will bring the total number of rides and experiences at Yas Waterworld to over 60.
Among the exciting new additions is the UAE’s highest slide, promising an adrenaline-fueled adventure. This slide will feature the Gulf Cooperation Council’s first amusement ride integrated within a waterslide complex, boasting a 15-meter drop that can accommodate up to 20 guests simultaneously.
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion: “This marks another milestone in our efforts to position Yas Island as a premier global destination for entertainment and leisure. We are committed to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s ecosystem and supporting economic diversification while increasing its appeal as a tourism hub.”
The new expansion will introduce the ‘Lost City,’ offering guests an adventurous journey through hidden treasures and secret passages, integrated with fun attractions. The expansion will complement the park’s existing architectural style and thematic elements, creating an immersive environment.
Key features of the expansion include a swim-up bar, high-thrill boat ride, racing and tube slides, family raft rides, and a dueling master blaster. For younger visitors, the expansion will offer scaled-down versions of iconic rides like the mini-Dawwama and mini-Boomerango, providing thrilling yet safe experiences for children.
Yas Waterworld is part of the diverse attractions on Yas Island, which also includes Ferrari World Yas Island, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, Yas Bay Waterfront, Etihad Arena, and SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
